A new concept based on commitment and extended services will start on Wednesday April 22, 2009 and will be fully operational by the end of the month.

INCOMING MAIL AND MAIL BOXES:

-    Your mail is delivered in Ajijic in a timeframe of US MAIL + 2 working days ( i.e.:  a letter sent by US mail to you on the 10th, if received in Laredo on the 11th, will be available in Ajijic on the 13th.).
-    The parcels are delivered in Ajijic in a timeframe of US MAIL + 5 working days (providing that we have received from you the origin, the value and the nature of the parcel’s content before or at its arrival in Laredo)
-    We receive and sort the mail everyday Monday thru Saturday. Our policy is: “no mail sitting in the warehouses at the end of the day”.
-    SOL y LUNA mail & parcels notifies you by e-mail every time something has arrived in your mail box.
-    You can either come to SOL y LUNA to pick up your mail or pick it up between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.  on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at  our  booth on the parking lot by the Torito.

PARCELS AND IMPORTS FROM OUTSIDE MEXICO
 
-    We make the commitment to fully explain in details the cost that you’ll pay for the PARCELS we receive for you ( Customs duties, IVA, Transportation and fees.)
-    We will explain to you the process and the charges that you’ll incur when Importing goods other than small packages, such a way you can make your decision on whether making or cancelling your importation.

OUTGOING MAIL AND PARCELS
 
-    US POSTAGE STAMPS are available for sale at SOL y LUNA starting on Monday April 27,2009 .
-    We only charge a small transportation and handling fee to take your regular mail and parcels and post it for you at the US Post Office in LAREDO.
-    Outgoing mail leaves Ajijic every other day at 3 p.m (Monday, Wednesday, Friday).; we commit to deliver it at the Post Office in Laredo in a timeframe of 24 hours.
A tracking system will be operational for all outgoing mail and parcels by end of May, 09.
 
FEDEX, UPS and ESTAFETA services will be available at SOL y LUNA on May, 15. Couriers account holders in the State can have their packages and letters delivered at the Couriers’ offices in Laredo.

If you sign up today, there will not be any interruption and you’ll start receiving your mail on Wednesday April 22, 2009.

IF I SIGN UP AT THE END OF THE MONTH, WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MY MAIL ALREADY IN LAREDO ( 827 Union Pacific Blvd)?

If you choose to use SOL Y LUNA Mail & Parcels services we will retrieve your mail and it will be delivered in no more than a week.
The mail and parcels received in Laredo prior to April, 22 will be kept at  Sol & Luna until December 31.

SHALL I KEEP THE EXACT SAME ADDRESS WITH THE SAME PMB ( Private Mail Box) :

Yes, you will keep the exact same address.

IS THE PAYMENT IN DOLLARS OR IN PESOS?

Rates are in Mexican Pesos but we can accept payment in USD dollars at the exchange rate at the day of your payment. Payment can be in cash, checks or Visa/MasterCard. We issue fiscal invoices upon request.

WHAT IF MY PACKAGE IS LOST IN THE MAIL?

We track all packages and we’ll keep you informed of the tracking process. We commit to get your package in no more than US Mail + 5 working days.

CAN I SEND MAIL OR PACKAGES ANYWHERE I WANT?
Yes, we sell US stamps and you place the stamps according to the destination, the weight and the service you want for your shipment. SOL y LUNA charges a small fee to have your mail sent to Laredo and delivered at the US Post Office over there. The fees for this service varies depending on the weight of your letter or package, starting from 10 pesos for a regular letter and goes up according to the weight, using the same range of weights as the US Postal Services.

WHAT TYPE OF STAMPS DO YOU SELL?
We use electronic stamps approved by the  US  Postal Services; (we do not sell collector stamps.).
